Malawi Teacher Professional Development Support Project
Malawi Teacher Professional Development Support (MTPDS):
- Is a three-year project to assist the Malawi Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) with teacher education support and systems management.
- Provides continuous professional development nationally for teachers and school leaders.
- Emphasizes addressing gaps in the new primary curriculum.

Seward International leads the teacher training and continuous professional development effort. The continuous professional development training:
- Improves teacher ability to teach early grade literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
- Trains more than 31,000 teachers.
- Prepares school leaders on school-based continuous professional development, instructional leadership, and school management.
- Trains 10,800 school leaders each year.
- Conducts more than 7,000 training activities each school year.
- USAID funds the project
- Creative Associates International leads the project
- RTI and Seward International are implementation partners
